How do you inspire your readers?

The word inspire comes from Latin, it literally means – “to breathe in”.

It goes without saying that the fundamental effect that any work of art has on us, besides the inherent aesthetic qualities conveyed, is its inspiration.

Inspiration comes in many ways and is different for each of us. In the case of a book, whether poetry, drama, mystery murder, science fiction, journalistic reporting et al, the interpretation of the words and the depth they may touch us is not the same for everyone.

There is no doubt about it, however, that even with a crime thriller or vampire-flesh-eating series, the authors in each case are imbuing something, whether it is pure entertainment, an adrenaline-rush, motivation, freedom from boredom or escape, whatever, EVERY author breathes something into his or her readers – INSPIRATION.

At International Writers Inspiring Change, we showcase authors of all genres, pulling back the curtain just a little so that readers can see into the world of the writer, the person behind the story. We spotlight you, the author, who you are, why you write, what you are trying to inspire or change in the world, and of course, we talk about your books.

We know that authors, in many cases, don’t like to toot their own horns. Some even find it objectionable. Nonetheless, we think it is valuable that the world gets to know you, maybe just a bit, but to know the person behind the inspiration.

“It is the writer who might catch the imagination of young people, and plant a seed that will flower and come to fruition.” – Isaac Asimov
